Description: The Residency in Pediatric Optometry is a unique program that aims to foster exceptional and independent clinicians who will have the opportunity to excel in the areas of patient care, education, and research within pediatric optometry. The program combines the facilities of the School of Optometry with those of the Civitan International Research Center, a major multidisciplinary University Affiliated Program (UAP). The residency is one calendar year in length with the resident permitted to take 10 days of educational leave. Training is approximately equally divided among binocular vision, management of developmental disorders, learning disabilities, pediatric ocular disease, and primary eye care of children.
